MRI Results and Worrisome Wanderings: My Trigeminal Neuralgia Odyssey Continues

October 13th, 2023

As the digital ink dries on my MRI results for the brain, I can let out a sigh of relief – no abnormalities detected. A resounding “WHEW!” echoed through my mind and soul.

I must admit, though, I’d somehow spiraled into a whirlwind of worry in the hours leading up to this moment. Web surfing and social media adventures had me pondering the scariest scenarios – bone cancer, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, even blood clots on the brain. This isn’t my usual train of thought, but the stories and videos about Trigeminal Neuralgia that I’d stumbled upon sent my imagination on a wild ride.

In my heart of hearts, I knew that the cervical region was the likely culprit behind my TN, but I couldn’t help but dive down that momentarily dark hole of despair. The mind, with a sprinkle of fear, can concoct some truly extraordinary tales.

After wrapping up work, I made a beeline for my trusted chiropractor, Dr. Duca, yet again. For many Trigeminal Neuralgia warriors, chiropractic care is a cornerstone of their battle plan. I’m a card-carrying member of that club, thanks to my enduring 20+ year relationship with Dr. Duca. His adjustments have been nothing short of miraculous, often standing guard against the need for surgical procedures.

And so, the journey rolls on. The MRI results may have brought relief, but I’ve come to learn that every twist and turn of this path is part of my Trigeminal Neuralgia odyssey. The road is long, but I’m determined to navigate it, with every adjustment, every test, and every moment of fear conquered.

Today’s pain: lower left teeth, primarily in the back. Excruciating and so sensitive.
