Patience and Experimentation: A Day in the Life of TN Testing

October 14th, 2023

Impatience tends to be my close companion, especially when it involves medical test results. As of today, the much-awaited news regarding the cervical MRI is still in transit, testing the limits of my resolve.

With two chiropractic visits under my belt, I couldn’t help but wonder how much of a difference it was making. The curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to conduct a little experiment – a temporary break from my morning meds for TN. The goal? To gauge just how long I could brave the day without them.

The morning rolled on, and I managed to hold out until approximately 3 pm. However, it wasn’t the ideal day for such a test. See, I wasn’t engaging in my usual chatter (which is a significant part of my job), and I’d also skipped meals beyond breakfast, a departure from my regular routine. In essence, I hadn’t provided the experiment with a consistent daily scenario, yet I was expecting different results.

But here’s what I did discover – my trusty nerve pain meds indeed serve a purpose. They’re a crucial part of my daily arsenal in this battle against Trigeminal Neuralgia. And for now, that’s perfectly fine by me.

The wait for test results may be testing my patience, but I’m learning, experimenting, and adapting along the way. The journey continues, and every day brings new insights into my uninvited guest, TN.

There was a silver lining to be found today. We celebrated our oldest grandson’s 5th birthday with a delightful Pumpkin Patch-themed party. It was a heartwarming distraction, a reminder that life’s joys and celebrations persist, even in the face of TN’s challenges. Happy birthday baby Stewart!
